Restoration of the coach house on the Wippelgem castle grounds.
The coach house on the Wippelgem castle grounds, protected as a monument, has been restored and fitted with a new interior. The former extension on the south side of the historic volume was replaced by a new volume.
The coach house consists of several interconnected volumes, dating back to the early 18th century, with a final extension from the 20th century. The building’s use as a multi-purpose hall has been retained.
For the new interventions, a clear architectural language and carefully considered material use were adopted. The new volume features two curtain walls facing the castle and the pond. Two targeted architectural interventions within the existing volume have optimised both the appearance and the functionality of the building.
