Retrofit of Lokeren post office into an administrative building.
In February 2020, the city of Lokeren launched a competition for the redevelopment of the former post office building on the Grote Markt, with the aim of converting this monument into a tourist office and city archive with additional multifunctional rooms. B-juxta came up with an innovative design that celebrates the historic qualities of the old post office building.
The most important intervention was the addition of a light-filled patio surrounded by circulation between the new inner façade and the historical edge of the building. The design interventions were well thought-out and respectful of the architectural heritage.
